1943 - 2010
Barry "Keith" Galvin passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Camrose, Alberta on April 10, 2010 at the age of 66 years. Keith was born on August 2, 1943 on a farm near Viscount, Saskatchewan to Jack and Margaret Galvin. In 1963 their son Dwayne was born and in March of 1964 Keith and Shirley were married. The family moved to Saskatoon where Keith worked. In 1966 their daughter Kim was born and their son Terry in 1968. The family moved to Stettler in 1972 where Keith worked for Verle Lyster, John Wilfort Construction and Les Parcels Trucking. Keith loved to play ball, billiards and curling, what he treasured most though was his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. Keith is survived by his children Dwayne Galvin of Stettler, Kim (Danny) Pochylko of Stettler and Terry (Cheryl) Galvin of Beaumont. Grandchildren; Teri-Lee, Kristi, Lyndon and Taylor and great-grandchild Leighton. He is also survived by one sister Jacqueline Steele and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his infant brother, mother Margaret Galvin, sister Daryl Balzer, father-in-law Fred Caswell, father John Galvin, brother-in-law Norm Balzer, sister Velma Hamel, brother-in-law Alec Hamel and brother Blake Galvin. A memorial service was held at the Brennen Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Ross Helgeton officiating. Family and friends gathered following the service to share their memories of Keith at the Brennen Funeral Home reception area. As an expression of sympathy and in memory of Keith, memorial contributions may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Brennen Funeral Home and Cremation Services P.O.
