January 25, 1927 - January 21, 2020
On Tuesday January 21st, 2020, Audrey Frances Cutts (Juleff) passed away of heart and kidney failure at the age of 92. She has joined her husband, Alban Cutts, who passed away in 2008. Audrey was born in Swan River, Manitoba to Dorothy and William Juleff on January 25, 1927 and was raised with her 2 sisters Jean Cunningham (deceased) and Joy Stuart on a farm. She will be lovingly remembered by her three children Tim (Margaret) of Ottawa, ON, Pam Navickas of Bragg Creek, AB and Ted (Sheila) of Stettler, AB. Many playful memories are kept of Nanny/Gramma Audrey, by her 8 grandchildren Stephanie, Alex, Jamie, Ashley, Emily, Adam, Marc and Erica; her 3 great grandchildren Cohen, Isaac and Dylan and many nieces and nephews from the Burrows, Cunningham and Stuart families. The life of our party will be missed!
Audrey's life was one filled with laughter, storytelling, singing and endless chatting. Among many activities, she enjoyed gardening, watercolour painting, observing wildlife, singing in the choir and rustic cottage life at "The Camp" with her husband and children. As a teenager, Audrey travelled from Manitoba to Haney, BC, to live with her grandfather and attend high School. Upon turning 18, she enlisted in the Canadian Women's Army Core and was transferred to Toronto. After the war's end, Audrey met Alban on a blind date. They married on February 25, 1949 and settled in Ottawa, where she worked for CMHC until the birth of their first child (Tim). Audrey opened her own business - a card and stationary shop - to which she gained much satisfaction from. After her children became older, Audrey sold both 'Parchment and Quill' stores and in 1988, moved with Alban to Bath, ON, giving them the opportunity for adventurous travels to the USA, Europe, New Zealand and Fiji. After Alban's death, Audrey lived in Stettler, AB, then in 2017 moved to Rocky Ridge Retirement Community in Calgary. On November 30, 2019 Audrey was admitted into the Foothills Hospital and then transferred to the Dulcina Hospice, where she passed away under the comfort and diligent care of the nursing staff and family. Many thanks and gratitude to you all.
A Funeral Service for Audrey will be held on Saturday, February 22nd, 2020 at 1 pm at All Saints Anglican Church (404 4 Avenue N, Cochrane, AB). Reception to follow at the Cochrane Legion.
