McWILLIAMS

Mr. Arthur Vaughn

1934 - 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of Vaughn McWilliams announce his passing on September 25, 2009 at the Stettler Regional Hospital. Vaughn was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on September 17, 1934. There he grew up and met his wife Joanne and on June 20, 1955, they were wed and raised their four children. In 1970, he was transferred to Black Diamond, Alberta where he worked as a heavy duty mechanic for Gulf Canada Resources Limited. In 1973, he was transferred to the Nevis plant and resided in Stettler, where he worked until he retired in 1993. Vaughn will be remembered best for his kind and generous spirit towards everyone that he met. He was always there when we needed him and no task was too great or too small. He always offered a loving heart and a willing hand for us all. His greatest pleasure was his children and grandchildren, for whom he gave never-ending support and love. He also had a great love of dogs and his later years, Oreo, became his best friend and companion. Left to cherish his memory are his children Suzanne (Brian) Cunningham of Calgary, Steve McWilliams of Edmonton, Robert McWilliams of Edmonton and Lisa (Michael) Fuger of Jakarata; his cherished grandchildren Chris, Melissa and Sarah Cunningham, Caroline (Ryan) Simoneau, Tyler (Kim) Fuger and Joshua Fuger. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Brooklyn Hennel and Jersey Simoneau; his brother George McWilliams of Regina, numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his wife Joanne on August 1, 2009, his parents Wesley and Cordelia, his brothers Norman, Elgin, John and Wesley and his sister Darlene.
