Aug 15, 1934 - Nov 27, 2017
Albert Frederick Kruse passed away peacefully in his home on November 27, 2017 at the age of 83. Albert was born to Karl and Emily Kruse on August 15, 1934. The youngest of nine children.

He moved to the family farm southwest of Stettler when he was three years old. He later inherited it, it's the only place he's called "home."

Albert married the love of his life and best friend Violet Lorraine Turnbull on April 29, 1972 after a brief courtship of just five months. It was meant to be. In February of 1973 they welcomed their first baby, son Darren Albert. Daughter Lorraine Emily arrived a few years later in May of 1976.

Albert spent his life doing what he loved - farming. Harvest season was his favorite, but he loved it all, including looking after the animals - pigs (for a short time), cows and chickens. He always had a soft spot for the pets too, dogs and cats (inside and out). Albert retired from farming in 2000 but spent the rest of his days still living at home.

The joys of his life were his grandchildren. First came Mercedes Violet in 1993 and Roxie Lorraine in 2008 daughters of Darren. Tristin Richard Allen later came in 2011 and Quentin Kruse in 2015, sons of Lorraine. These kids kept the sparkle in his eye.

He always loved playing guitar, through his retired years Albert enjoyed playing in a band called "Old Sounds" for nursing homes. In his last years, he and Violet would often just sit and listen to the radio, turning it louder when a favorite came on.

Albert will be dearly missed by his wife and best friend Violet, son Darren (Heidi), daughter Lorraine (Percy), granddaughters Mercedes and Roxie, grandsons Tristin and Quentin, dear friend and neighbor Bruce Reinbold, sister-in-law Geraldine Kruse, brothers-in-law Gary (Julie) Turnbull, Victor (Cora) Turnbull and many, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

A funeral service was held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Stettler Funeral Home with Reverend Barbara Lieurance officiating. Family and friends joined together for a time of sharing memories and a luncheon following the service.
