On July 29, 2021, Agnes passed away at the age 82.
She will be lovingly remembered by children, Corey and Elaine (Colin); grandchildren, Brody, Carlee, Charlotte and Rachel; twin sister Margaret Sacuta; and extended family of nieces, nephews and their children. She is predeceased by brother, Bruce McMillan, and brother-in-law Nick Sacuta.
Agnes grew up on the family farm and attended Ingleton one-room school. She tragically lost both of her parents at an early age and was lovingly raised by her brother and his family. Agnes received her BA and B.Ed and the University of Alberta (1960). Agnes married Ronald Fisher in 1961 and taught school in Edmonton, Ottawa and Red Deer.
Finding herself single in 1979, Agnes picked herself up and decided to embark upon a new career in real estate, enjoying 40 successful years with Webber, Potters, Langley and finally ReMax Realty. Never idle, Agnes was a doer, rolling up her sleeves to support organizations such as Unicef Canada, Edmonton Gateway Rotary Club, and the P.E.O. “Sisterhood”. Agnes will be remembered for her generosity, trademark determination, her love of travel, and her art for lively conversation.
Special thanks go to Dr. Karachiwala, Dr. Follett and RN Vanessa Sauve of the Cross Cancer Institute; family Dr. Stromberg; and her personal army of close neighbours/friends, and care giver Grace who were especially supportive during her final months.
