Warning to Stettler Businesses

Stettler Board of Trade is warning all its members against what could be scam designed to deceive local businesses.

The warning is as follows:

Warning To All Stettler Businesses

We have received a call from a local business that they have been approached by a sales representative selling “point of sale” hardware for cash terminals, ie pin pads, etc. This particular representative stated that he was representing one of the local financial institutions; which is untrue.

For your protection please make sure you check with your financial service provider BEFORE you or your staff provide any information regarding your businesses’ banking arrangements or other sensitive business information to anyone.

If you have been approached and given information that you consider untrue or misleading please contact the RCMP.
