Man at work – Nigel Renschler is proud to have excelled in his trade which he took up almost by chance

Young Stettlerite Nigel Renschler will be representing Canada at World Skills Competition in London, England next year following his successive gold medal wins in the auto body repair category at provincial and national skills competitions this month.

Renschler has just returned from Waterloo, Ontario where the national skills competition was held, just about a week after the conclusion of the provincial level events.

After winning gold at the Expo Centre on May 14, Reschler took part in the national competition in Waterloo as part of the Alberta team and there he did it again bringing back another gold medal to Stettler.

Having worked for only two years in his trade, Renschler seems to have excelled in his work in a short time after entering the trade almost by chance.

“I was at the high school and I wanted to have an after school job and my mom told me that Brennan Auto Body was looking for people. So I came and I just liked working on cars.”

Asked whether he would have any special program to better compete in London in October next year, 19-year-old Renschler said he would be taking part in several training programs in Calgary as well as taking a few trips to Ontario to polish his skills.
