With 32 new exhibitors standing as a testimony to its popularity, Stettler Trade Show celebrates 30 years this weekend with plenty of fun for all ages at Stettler Recreation Centre.
“Celebrating Our Past, Shaping Our Future” is the special theme for this year’s milestone event hosted by Stettler Regional Board of Trade and Community Development.
“It will certainly be a festive weekend for all ages and interests,” said Gwenda Gravely, organizer of the trade show.
“To celebrate 30 years, we hope to have created a festive weekend.”
“We have 32 new exhibitors showcasing some new ideas and products and our past vendors are more than happy to showcase the new and innovative.
About 100 exhibitors, including businesses and community groups from all over central Alberta and southern and northern Alberta regions will hit the spotlight.
“They all love to come and show you what’s new with them and we are very excited about the show this year and hope everyone will come out and explore and enjoy some time with us,” said Gravely.
All the fun and action is set for April 9 from 2 to 9 p.m., April 10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and April 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Stettler’s trade show is a popular event with vendors because they realize the importance of face-to-face contact with potential customers and the high profile they can give they’re business in our vibrant community,” said Gravely.
“The show is popular with the community because it’s the first big event in the community at the break of spring to meet and greet neighbours and friends as well as staying abreast of what’s new with innovation, trends, opportunities and competition.”
Exhibits and displays will promote home improvements, home entertainment, landscaping, homemade crafts and products, leisure and recreation, vehicles, financial and insurance services, environmental and green choices, agriculture, service and retail, commercial and industrial, along with home-made businesses, municipal and community A VRX Craft virtual reality motion ride simulator, face painting by Heartland Youth Center on Friday and Sunday, Brenda the clown and balloon artist Janine interacting with people over the weekend.
“We are also excited to have Medicine River Wildlife Centre bringing their tiny little ‘owl’ which Carol Kelly said many children and possibly even adults don’t ever get to see an owl up that close and that tiny,” said Gravely
“Our local fish and wildlife branch will again bring its interactive fishing tent.”
Organizers hope crowds to grow from last year when the show attracted a record high of 5,300 visitors, up from 4,200 in 2008.
