Town of Stettler has raised the user fees for the campgrounds within the boundaries of the town.

The town council decided to raise fees at its regular meeting on July 21 upon a recommendation by Lee Penner, Director of Parks and Leisure Services,

Presenting a comparison of the fees applied in the neighbouring communities, Penner reminded the council that Stettler campground fees had not been raised for several years.

According to the decision of the council, the camping fees for fully serviced sites goes from $20 a night to $25 a night, for sites with only power but without service nightly charge becomes $23, up from 18; and no service camping sites are to be charged $20 per night up from $14.

Weekly charge for fully serviced camping site is set at $160 and at $145 for sites which have only partial service.

Council members also voted to assist the organization and serving of the pancake breakfast during the days of Stettler Steel Wheel Stampede next week.
