Town and County of Stettler proclaim Seniors’ Week 2022

The beginning of June marks Seniors’ Week.

First started in Alberta in 1986, the Province of Alberta website says that the purpose behind Seniors’ Week is to “celebrate and recognize the contributions seniors make to enhance the quality of life in Alberta.

To honour the seniors in Stettler and area, the Town of Stettler joined with the county in proclaiming Seniors’ Week on May 30.

“It’s great to be back visiting and sharing this week with the people that have helped shape Stettler into the caring, innovative community we’ve all come to love,” Mayor Sean Nolls said in a media release.

“Without our seniors, Stettler would be a very different place. We need to thank them every day for all they have done to create this corner of happiness we call Stettler.”

A variety of activities will be taking place in the community for Seniors’ Week, so watch social media for more information.
