There were some surprise results in Monday’s municipal elections in the County of Stettler and Town Of Stettler with new faces making it to the councils.
In the Town of Stettler, mayor Dick Richards held on to his seat while newcomer Malcolm Fisher topped the polls for the council with 1021 votes.
As for the County of Stettler, Reeve Earl Marshall failed to regain his seat and there will be e recount of votes in one ward.

With 5 of 6 wards being declared, Election Day in the County of Stettler came to close today with 3 incumbents winning their seats back, 3 new councilors and a recount. Voter turnout was up from the previous election to 39%. The returning Officer has declared a recount in the Byemoor-Endiang Ward, scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 19, at the County of Stettler Administration Building. The results will be available following the recount.
