It’s starting to look a little like Christmas.
An annual tradition, the Main Street Christmas tree, was put in place on the morning of Nov. 15.
Half a block of street was closed off in all four directions to prepare for the setup of the tree.
First on-site was the mobile crane from Heartland Industries, which arrived a little before 10 a.m.
Around 10:30 a.m., the tree itself arrived.
The Christmas tree this year, according to the Town of Stettler Facebook page, is being supplied by Clint Sime.
While the tree is in place at the intersection of 50 St. and 49 Ave., there will be no left turns and drivers are asked to remain extra cautious due to impaired visibility.
The tree will remain in place until January 2023.
Decorating will take place over the next several days as weather and timing permit, and the tree will be officially lit by Mayor Sean Nolls and this year’s Stettler Citizen of the year, Tom Campbell, at the Moonlight Madness event on Nov. 25.
