This is our quiet, fun loving, witty little buddy Jake Rock.

Jake is eight-years-old and is in Grade 3 at Stettler Elementary School. Jake likes to play hockey and lacrosse. He loves to out-play, out-work and out-last his opponents. Jake proudly wears his Stettler Minor lacrosse jersey and calls lacrosse his favorite sport.

Jake enjoys hanging out at home with his sister and loves to joke around with his older brother. His favorite family memory was visiting the sand dunes in Idaho in the summer of 2016.

Unfortunately the summer of 2019 is not off to a good start. Jake is currently at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton with his parents Clayton and Sarah.

The Rock family are preparing for the next phase of Jakes Journey.

Jake was born with Progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis (PFIC) a disorder that causes progressive liver disease. Jake is now in liver failure and he requires a liver transplant.

We are asking that friends, family, neighbors, friends of friends please consider being a living liver donor for Jake. Finding a living liver donor greatly improves Jake’s chances of getting a transplant. He is currently on the transplant list but waiting for a cadaver liver can take a very long time.

If you are between the ages of 18-55 and have Type O, O + or O – blood then you could possibly be a donor match. If you are interested in more information about being a liver donor, please contact the transplant coordinator at the Stollery at 1-780-407-8698.

Please specify you would like to be considered for a living donor for Jake Rock.

The entire Rock family is extremely thankful to anyone who considers to give selflessly to Jake as the surgery would be a big commitment for the donor.

Finding Jake a new, healthy liver is our number one priority.

We know Jake’s friends and family will not stop until we find him a liver. However in the meantime we can still help the Rock family by relieving some of the financial burdens that come with having a sick child who is being treated far from home.

In one day, over $13,000 has been raised for Jake via a GoFundMe account at https://www.gofundme.com/truzd-jake039s-journey.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering a donation to Jake or the Rock family.
