My name is Scott Pfeiffer and I would like to re-introduce myself to our town residents as I am putting my ‘hat in the ring’ to run for town council.

I am semi-retired but am serving on Town council and operating a music and sound system business out of my home and I teach music (saxophone and piano) part-time.

I previously ran our family business started by my father called ‘Pfeiffer House of Music’.

Our family operated this business in Stettler for 50 years from 1967-2017 on Main Street; this business experience helps me to empathize and relate to our business community.

I currently serve on a number of boards and clubs including Family and Community Support Services, Stettler Board of Trade, the Economic Development Board for the Town of Stettler, Rotary Club of Stettler, and the Performing Arts Centre Board.

In the last term on council I have served on the Economic Development Board which was just started in this last term as a ‘bridge’ between our Town, Board of Trade and our business community.

As a board, we have worked at and helped bring about a housing survey which has resulted in a new senior housing development being planned on the west end for our community.

We have also implemented a commercial market survey to give future business owners the data and tools they need to be able to better make business decisions as to consider “opening up shop” in our community.

Our council has worked to keep taxes low and services for our residents high.

I am proud of the spirit of cooperation between our council and Town management and employees.

Some of the highlights of my term include the introduction of more trails and a new bridge on our trail system and maintenance of existing trails, the opening of our Town orchard and continued operation of community gardens, the building of phase two of our skate park, the hosting of the Provincial Women’s curling bonspiel, continued repaving of streets, replacing curbs, and replacing water and sewer mains on Main Street and throughout our town with a multi-year plan for the future and many more projects and maintenance that go on in our town on a daily basis.

Also, I have been pleased to continue the tradition of the excellent collaborative relationship that the Town has with the County.

We work together in the following areas: the Inter-Municipal Library Agreement, Fire Services Agreement, Emergency Management Agreement, Police Services, Joint Plans, Economic Development Services, Solid Waste Management Services, Bylaws, Ambulance Services Agreement, Museum Agreement, the Inter-municipal Collaboration Framework, Recreation Service Agreement, and Family and Community Support Services.

I would ask that you vote for me because I bring experience and I will continue to work hard to bring your concerns to the council table.
