With signs of spring around the corner comes the big 30th annual Stettler Trade Show from April 9 to 11 at Stettler Recreation Centre.
“Celebrating Our Past, Shaping Our Future” is the special theme for this year’s milestone event hosted by Stettler Regional Board of Trade and Community Development.
“We sold out our 100 exhibits spaces by Feb. 17,” said Gwenda Gravely, organizer of the trade show.
“It will certainly be a festive weekend for all ages.”
A VRX Craft 12-passenger virtual reality motion simulator and Medicine River Wildlife Centre feature of “Owl” will be the main new attractions this year.
Children will have plenty of fun with Brenda the Clown and Janine the balloon artist.
About 100 exhibitors, including businesses and community groups from all over central Alberta and southern and northern Alberta regions will hit the spotlight in the event hosted by Stettler Regional Board of Trade and Community Development.
“The trade show creates an experience where the customer can see, touch and feel the products offered and see the enthusiasm of the vendors sharing the product or service.”
Exhibits and displays will promote home improvements, home entertainment, landscaping, homemade crafts and products, leisure and recreation, vehicles, financial and insurance services, environmental and green choices, agriculture, service and retail, commercial and industrial, along with home-made businesses, municipal and community organizations, programs and services.
The trade show provides opportunity to showcase companies’ products or services.
“For the consumer, it offers one-stop shopping under one roof, meet and greet with neighbors and friends, and seeing what’s new and available for consumers,” said Gravely.
“The value of the trade show is the face-to-face contact exhibitors make with potential customers; even if they don’t buy today they will consider that product or service tomorrow.”
This year there will also be some political campaigning at the trade show with Danielle Smith, the leader of the Alberta Wildrose Alliance Party scheduled to appear at the party’s stand on April 9.
Smith will meet local residents and business representatives for several hours on Friday afternoon.
All the fun and action is set for April 9 from 2 to 9 p.m., April 10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and April 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
