A proposed solar energy project planned for Stettler County has taken another step forward.
The Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) announced on Jan. 14 that Stettler Solar Inc. has filed its applications to construct a solar facility approximately two kilometres south of the town of Stettler.
When completed, the project and associated battery facility known as the Stettler Solar and Storage Project, will generate 25 megawatts of power and provide 16 megawatts of energy storage.
The project will sit on around 190 acres of private farmland in Stettler County.
Those who may be affected by the project may supply written submissions to the AUC by Feb. 14, 2024.
For more information about the project, or to supply written submissions, check out the AUC website at www.auc.ab.ca.
