The Stettler Regional Board of Trade (BOT) hosted a Summer Kick-Off Block Party on Thu, May 18 in its parking lot. The event was open to the public with proceeds going to the Stettler & District Handi-Bus.
Handi-Bus Program coordinator Judy McKnight was on hand along with driver Kimberly Thompson. McKnight says they were approached by BOT communications officer Kami Ritz. Ritz invited them to the block party to help get the organization into the public eye.
BOT Board members were on hand to serve smokies, hotdogs and ice cream to guests. Executive director Byron Geddes served sodas and chips. Geddes says he was looking forward to seeing the community come out and was thankful the weather seemed to be holding, despite an occasional wind gust.
