The Stettler Regional Board of Trade (BOT) hosted the first of two semi-annual employment fairs on March 19.
Due to a scheduling conflict at the Stettler Recreation Centre (SRC), the event was moved to the Stettler Community Hall, a move which BOT executive director Byron Geddes says may remain permanent.
“The turnout was twice anything we’ve had before,” said Geddes, in a recent interview.
“There was a better atmosphere at the community hall … it’s more homey.”
According to Geddes, the success of the employment fair goes along with the BOT’s recent philosophy of “Let’s do it bigger, let’s do it better.”
“It was well received by the public.”
Geddes says that there were 24 employers in attendance at the March event, including the RCMP.
The fall employment fair is already scheduled for Sept. 12, 2024.
While final details are still being worked out, all information will be available on the BOT website (stettlerboardoftrade.com) in the coming months.
