Stettler RCMP responds to growing number of incidents in the county

During the month of October, RCMP Stettler detachment responded to 318 incidents (239 in Stettler - 79 in the villages and county). These totals are broken down into 99 criminal and federal investigations (78 in Stettler - 21 in the rural), and 51 collisions (18 in Stettler - 33 in the rural).

WORKLOAD

During the month of October, RCMP Stettler detachment responded to 318 incidents (239 in Stettler - 79 in the villages and county). These totals are broken down into 99 criminal and federal investigations (78 in Stettler - 21 in the rural), and 51 collisions (18 in Stettler - 33 in the rural).

COLLISION

A female cyclist was struck near the intersection of 57 Street and Veterans Way in Stettler on Nov. 3. Police, fire and EMS responded. The 13-year- old cyclist was transported to Stettler Hospital for examination and sustained non-life threatening injuries.

VANDALISM

On Nov 8th private property in the 5800 block of 50th Ave in Stettler was spray-painted.

THEFT

A business in the 4500 block of 52 Avenue in Stettler was broken into overnight on Nov. 6. A quantity of liquor was stolen.

The same night, a vehicle parked in the 4800 block of 51 Street was damaged when attempts were made to steal that vehicle. In the 4800 block of 54 Street, a blue 2001 Ford Excursion was stolen and has not been recovered. It bore Alberta license plate TKR-978.

Also on Nov. 6, about 200 feet of copper wire was stolen from a gravel pit area near Big Valley.
