Stettler RCMP arrest hitchhiker

Man charged with attempting to steal truck, break and enter into another vehicle

Stettler RCMP arrested a man hitchhiking who was wanted on outstanding warrants.

According to Const. Mike Hibbs of RCMP media relations, on Dec. 10 at about 7 p.m. Stettler RCMP responded to a report of a man hitchhiking on Hwy 589 near Stettler. Cody Ian Jensen, 24, of no fixed address, was arrested without incident.

Jensen was identified as a suspect attempting to steal a truck and break and enter into another vehicle in the Stettler area. He is charged with theft of a vehicle, driving while unauthorized, failing to comply with a probation order and failing to comply with conditions.

Jensen was remanded in custody after a judicial hearing and appears in Stettler provincial court Dec. 13.
