Stettler getting visit from Communities in Bloom Judges

The Communities in Bloom judges are coming to Stettler.

Taking part in the 28th edition of the Communities in Bloom competition, Stettler is competeing in the Class of Champions Medium category along with Kingsville, Ont., Stonewall, Man., and Yarmouth, N.S.

Each community will be rated from one to five blooms, aiming for a bronze, silver or gold in their rating.

Judging the Communities in Bloom for 2022 are Martin Quinn from Groderich, Ont. and Anthony O’Neil from North Saanich, B.C. who will be in town July 24 -26.

The Town of Stettler asks all businesses and residents to tidy up their property before the judges arrive.

Communities in Bloom winners, both national and international will be announced at the National Symposium on Parks and Grounds and the National Awards celebrating the “Year of the Garden” taking place October 20-23 in Victoria, B.C. This is the first in-person Communities in Bloom event to be held in person since 2019.

Communities in Bloom is a non-profit volunteer and partnership-driven organization that came about to foster community strength, involvement, and improvement. These goals are accomplished through promoting environmental sustainability, enhancements of green spaces, and heritage conservation in cultural and natural environments encompassing municipal, residential commercial, and institutional spaces.

Capturing the essence of Communities in Bloom, the program’s slogan is “Growing Great Places Together.”
