Clearview Public Schools has appointed a new Secretary-Treasurer for the upcoming 2023-24 school year.
The Stettler-based school division announced that Mauricio Reyes would take over the role effective Aug. 9, 2023.
“We are very pleased to welcome Mauricio to the Clearview leadership team,” said Scot Leys, Clearview Superintendent, in a June 26 media release. “Mauricio is a great choice for this important position as he brings with him extensive financial experience. We are excited to have someone with this depth of knowledge in the public, educational and municipal government sectors to help guide our Division budget and financial operations.”
According to the release, Reyes has over 15 years of leadership experience and is a designated Chartered Public Accountant, a Certified Asset Management Professional and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Before making the move to Stettler and Clearview, Reyes served as the director of corporate services for the Town of Drumheller. Previously Reyes has worked for the City of Lacombe, the City of Grande Prairie and the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division in key financial positions “making him well versed in asset management, budgeting process and financial reporting.”
“I am delighted to be joining Clearview School Division as Secretary-Treasurer, where I eagerly look forward to connecting with the Board, colleagues, and communities, and discovering how I can best serve,” said Reyes. “By fostering strong relationships, I aim to contribute my expertise while embracing valuable insights from others. My primary goal as Secretary-Treasurer is to make a positive impact by supporting the growth and development of students, educators, and staff.”
