One of the larger agricultural events in the region is making its way back to Stettler for its third year.

The Heartland Cattlemen’s Classic is set to take over the Stettler Agriplex from Jan. 28 to 30, 2022.

Being part trade show, the vendor area of the Classic will feature a dozen different businesses made up of the five cattle breed associations along with some of the major sponsors of the event.

On the show floor, around 30 open exhibitors will be showing off their heifers, yearlings, and two-year-old bulls.

According to Alana Weaver, the program coordinator at the Stettler and District Agricultural Society, there will be in excess of $14,000 worth of prizes up for grabs for show entrants.

The event will run starting at 10 a.m. on Jan. 28, and the day will conclude with a Cattlemen’s Social starting at 5 p.m.

On Jan. 29, Vision Credit Union is sponsoring a pick up and take away breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. which the entire community is invited to partake in.

On Jan. 30, the kids get a turn showing off their animals at the junior show starting at 10 a.m.

“We are full,” said Weaver, about the junior show.

“We have over 60 junior exhibitors.”

While the event is primarily geared for those in the cattle business, the event is open to the public.

Weaver highlighted that an event of this caliber could not come together without the 30-plus sponsors that make it possible.

“When it comes to Ag., Stettler really rallies around,” said Weaver.
