Thieves often travel far and wide to carry out their illegal deeds, which means stolen property taken in Stettler can end up anywhere in the province.

During the execution of a search warrant in December 2015, Bonnyville RCMP seized multiple items that were determined to not belong to the accused. One of those items was a type of radiation detector used at oil and gas sites.

Now that the investigation is finished and the matter has moved through the courts, police are trying to reunite the detector with its owners. RCMP said they have not been able to identify the owner through other means, and hope that posting an image of the item may result in the owner – a person or a company – coming forward to claim it.

If this item looks like one stolen from you, please contact Bonnyville RCMP's Const. Phil Smith at 780-343-7225.
