RCMP in speed enforcement campaign

CPL. LAUREL KONSCHUH/Central Region Integrated Traffic Services

On April 1, in conjunction with the start of speed enforcement month, an educational traffic operation was conducted in the school zone on Highway 12 in Stettler.

Central Region Integrated Traffic Services, with their partners; The Regional Traffic Safety Coordinator of the Alberta Office of Traffic Safety, Alberta Transportation and Alberta Health Services delivered a strong message on behalf of the students, schools and the community about speeding in school zones. Cards prepared the Stettler Elementary School were handed out to all drivers with a reminder to slow down - for everyone’s sake.

On April 18, all agencies will return to follow up and conduct enforcement against speeders in the various school zones in Stettler. Violation tickets will be issued.

Speeding doesn’t just affect drivers in school zones.

This is a reminder that anywhere and any time you are driving faster than the posted speed limit can result in many severe consequences.
