If Isaac Weibel ruled the world, the six-year-old would have his birthday everyday, would never grow old, and would own a palace with a hockey rink and multiple swimming pools.

If "Kids ruled the world" was the theme of the inaugural event in Darlene Philpot's Awesome Autumn series at the Stettler Public Library, where kids can come and enjoy, followed up by activities that somehow relate to the story.

"Come prepared to have a lot of fun," Philpot said.

Weibel had plenty of ideas about how he would live if he ruled the world. His huge home also included puppies, a toy store and candy store where he could buy things for free.

Discovery with glue, crystals and dyesIt was a potentially messy Saturday at the library as kids gathered for the Glue Goo event, run by Elaine Hoekstra. Designed to appease the sticky, messy part of a child's mind, the event let kids go wild with designs in glue.

Using simple white glue, children drew patterns on a piece of wax paper. Then, they spilled different types of crystals over the glue — in this case, the crystals in question were table salt and white sugar.

Once the excess was shaken off the trays in which the paper sat, children used droppers to colour the glue-crystal strands with dyed water and could see how the two types of crystals absorbed differently.
