Police investigate bird deaths north of town

On Feb. 21 upwards of 40 pheasants were found dead in a pen located north of town, near highway 601. Police are investigating the possibility of a dog in the area being responsible for the incident.

A residence in downtown area was reported broken into. Nothing appeared to have been taken in the incident and damage was minimal.

Police responded to a complaint of threats being made towards a 19-year-old female. No charges were pursued.

A 16-year-old female is facing assault charges following an incident at a residence in Stettler. The victim did not sustain any serious injuries as a result of the incident. No names can be released under the direction of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

A vehicle on the east side of Stettler was a target for thieves who, it is believed, attempted to steal the tires from this vehicle. The owner reported that sometime over the night of February 24, culprits removed the lug nuts and centre hubs from his parked truck.

Police are following up on a complaint of threats made against a 16-year-old male. The investigation is on-going.

Police were called to a disturbance at a business on 50 Avenue where it was reported as many as 15 people were outside fighting.

In addition, police responded to 11 collisions, three involving deer, three false alarms, two family disturbances and a number of traffic complaints.
