Plenty of Christmas activities start December around Castor

Castor

Castor and District Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) hosted a community Christmas at its office in Castor on Dec. 1.

Around 30 parents and children attended the afternoon which included crafts, snacks, an opportunity for kids to shop at Santa's workshop, and a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Those kids who stopped by to see Santa and Mrs. Claus came away with a small gift, supplied by FCSS and a book donated by Paintearth Adult Learning.

The community Christmas began at 2 p.m., but those weren't the only activities happening in town that day.

From 12-2 p.m., the Castor Elks sponsored free skating at the Beaverdome, and beginning at 1 p.m., the Castor Hospital Women's Auxiliary hosted it's annual cookie walk, also at the FCSS building.

Earlier in the day, those wishing to make the drive out to Halkirk could go for that community's "Breakfast with Santa."
