Nomination period commences for the 2021 municipal general election

Nomination period is now open to all prospective candidates interested in running for six councillor positions and one mayor position on Town of Stettler council in the 2021 Municipal General Election.

The deadline for the submission of candidate forms is noon on Sept. 20th, approximately one month prior to the Oct. 18th election.

Prospective candidates can visit the Town of Stettler office to pick up the nomination package, or download the package at www.stettler.net.

All candidates must complete the nomination paper & candidate’s acceptance form, candidate information form, and campaign disclosure statement and financial statement form.

The nomination form requires the completion of an affidavit by the nominee stating that they are eligible to be a candidate in the election, not disqualified from office, and that you will accept the office if you are elected, according to a release.

You must swear or affirm that affidavit before a commissioner for oaths or the returning officer.

The completed nomination forms will be received by the returning officer or substitute returning officers until noon on Sept. 20th at the Town of Stettler office at 5031 - 50 St.

Nomination forms must be submitted in-person; digital or mailed forms will not be accepted. The Town Office will accept submissions during the regular office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
