Town delays meeting, move

Town of Stettler has announced that its next regular meeting scheduled for August 18 has been cancelled. No reason was given for the cancellation.

Earlier, the town council decided to postpone the move to the new joint building because of minor delays in the completion of construction work.

The scheduled August 18 meeting was to be held at the new building.

The town now says the first meeting in the new building will take place on Sept.1.

Bylaw Enforcement warning

The Town of Stettler has issued a reminder to all homeowners to trim the trees and bushes along the front and rear of their properties.

“It is difficult to grade the lanes or pick up waste if trees significantly overhang in the laneway,” said a statement from the town office.

It reminded that trees overhanging in an alley, sidewalk or lane or interfering with vehicles may end up costing the owner of the house up to $300 in fines.
