Province lends a hand to beef farmers
Given the combination of drought in the region and the economic downturn, the provincial government has announced that it will provide haying and grazing opportunities by temporarily relaxing the Alberta government’s grazing subletting policy on public land.
This will allow producers in areas hard hit by the dry conditions to work with other producers who hold agriculture leases on public land.
Producers who want to sublet their grazing lease or inquire about a particular parcel of vacant public land can contact their local Rangeland Management office or the Rangeland Management Branch at 780-427-3595.
