The community of Stettler came together to remember Staff Sgt. Bruce Holliday on Feb. 6.

Around 200 people descended on Memorial Park, located adjacent to Wm. E. Hay Secondary Campus, where a sombre ceremony was held.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., the ceremony featured tributes by County of Stettler Reeve Larry Clarke, Town of Stettler councillor Gord Lawlor and Pastor Ross Helgeton.

Luminaries allowing individuals to share memories of Holliday were available.

In addition to the community members and officials, several members of Stettler Regional Fire Department, Stettler and District Ambulance Association and County of Stettler Protective Services were also in attendance.

The park remained open until around 7:30 p.m. for those wishing to pay their respects.
