March is the month of Peeps at the Stettler Public Library. What are Peeps?

You know those disgusting marshmallow sugar-covered candies that come out at Easter? Well we take those monstrosities and make them into wonderful works of art during our Annual Peeps Diorama Contest! Come in and pick up your Peeps and boxes start creating some wonderful scenes. Final judging for the Annual Peeps Diorama Contest is March 31 so have your dioramas at the Library by Friday March 30. Good Luck!

If you want to get a head start at your Peeps Diorama, join us on Friday March 2 at 2 p.m. for “Work on Your Peeps Diorama”. We will provide the Peeps, boxes and additional supplies for you to get a great start on your masterpieces. Children 6 and up are welcome.

Also on Friday March 2 at 12 pm is Dr. Seuss Day at the Library. Ages 8 and up (unless accompanied by an adult) is invited to celebrate the wonders of Dr. Seuss with some great activities.

You wanted it so you got it! More Pokemon! Starting Thursday March 1, the Pokemon Swap Meet becomes weekly from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Stettler Public Library is where you can find Pikachu and his friends.

Also during the month of March we are going to increase our Super Smash Bros. quotient. Every Saturday at 12 p.m. we will be hosting two tournaments for all ages! Challenge your friends and come and join the fun at the Stettler Public Library.

Put Monday March 5 at 7 p.m. on your calendar and come to the Jewel Theatre to see the latest installment of the Film Circuit when we are showing “Lady Bird”. Christine “Lady Bird” McPherson fights against but is exactly like her wildly loving, deeply opinionated and strong-willed mom, a nurse working tirelessly to keep her family afloat after Lady Bird’s father loses his job. Set in Sacramento, California in 2002, Lady Bird is an affecting look at the relationships that shape us, the beliefs that define us, and the unmatched beauty of a place called home. This movie is nominated for five Oscars including Best Picture and Best Director.
