Hello again everyone! As we turn the page on an unusual April and enter May, our hope is that you are all healthy, in good spirits, and ready to enjoy the warmer days ahead!

Hoping you have taken some time to work on projects, learn new things, explore your creative side, and spend time with loved ones either at home or online.

We hope too that you are taking breaks from the news when it gets too dark and finding great reading material to distract and inspire you.

At the Stettler Public Library, we are continuing to stock new titles both in print (available through our curbside service) and online in the eLibrary.

There is a wealth of material to browse and if you are looking for something specific, we are doing our best to bring it in. Not sure what to request? Tell us what kinds of books you have enjoyed in the past and we will do our best to find some great new books and read-alikes.

We have taken our programming online and are embarking on a fun new adventure with the team at Rairdan Services.

StettlerLocal.com is launching a local TV service and we will be appearing there live with some great programs and information. The segments should be available for watching online afterward so if you are not able to tune in when we are live, you can watch the recording later. Tune in for Brain Train with Mrs. H, Crystal’s Crochet and other special guest speakers.

We are in the midst of planning additional programming celebrating Mental Health Week (May 4th-11th), and our collective return to gardening.

Follow us on Facebook (@stettlerpubliclibrary) for the latest news or check our web site at https://spl.prl.ab.ca for upcoming events.

Alix continues to host Read and Rhyme on Monday through Saturday at 10:30 a.m., tune in for some stories, songs and fun together in the morning or watch the recording later on.

Are you looking for some entertainment for children six and up? Join Alix on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays for Something Cool after (home) School.

For artists, Shaunzy continues to dazzle with digital art on Fridays at five, you can find him on our Facebook page, live streaming (or watch the recording afterward).

We are now hosting weekly ukulele circles via Zoom conferencing Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

Email spl@prl.ab.ca to learn more if you are interested in joining the circle. Ukuleles are a wonderful little instrument, it is very easy to pick up a few chords and from there you can play so many fun songs.

We can help you get up to speed fast if you are new to the instrument.

Reader’s Circle Book Club will also be meeting again via Zoom on May 26th and we are relaunching the Brain Candy Book Club this summer, so that we can read a few more books that are light and entertaining. Check out our web site for more information or call us at 403-742-2292.

As always, if you have ideas or suggestions, or want to volunteer to do an online program, we would love to talk to you.

Contact us by phone Mondays - Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or by email at spl@prl.ab.ca. If you are on Facebook, you can also message us there @StettlerPublicLibrary!
