For those wanting to get into the festivities on Canada Day, they won’thave to go far.

There is a full day of activities around Stettler on July 1 beginning at the Stettler Museum.

Kicking things off is a pancake breakfast running from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Cost for the breakfast is $5 per person and includes free admission to the museum.

Kicking of at 11 a.m in West Stettler Park is a World Drum Circle, honouring the survivors of the residential schools and acknowledging those who never made it home.

After the breakfast concludes at the museum, a day full of family activities will kick off. There will be games of bubble soccer, face painting, a puppet show, free hot dogs, and much more down at the museum grounds.

Events at the grounds will be running until 5 p.m., then it’s time to head over to West Stettler Park. There will be free cupcakes beginning at 7 p.m., followed by a performance by Stettler’s own musical group “Loose Change” who will be playing at the gazebo.

Stick around after the entertainment for fireworks at dusk.
