Despite a significantly smaller crowd than in past years, the Stettler Kinettes Ladies' Night Out was a fun, entertaining night for the women of Stettler and area.

The annual event, which raises money for Kinettes projects in the community, had about 130 people come to the sorority party-themed event. Each table was made into a sorority, with the teams competing in a night of games.

The Linda Hall Ladies' Sorority ended up winning the tournament, coming out ahead of the others after a night of cup-stacking, human hungry-hippo, and other fun games. A silent auction also helped raise money.

This year, the Kinettes weren't raising for a specific project, and will instead put the funds into reserves for future projects in the community.

"Everyone had a great time," Tera Blake, president of the Stettler Kinettes, said. "(The games) was what was requested — a more interactive evening. When we've had interactive themed evenings, we've had the best feedback."

Though the amount raised by the event isn't known just yet, Blake said that she believed the event will come out ahead, despite the lower turn-out.

"It's a bit of the economy, but the night didn't work for some people this year," Blake said.
