Increased number of petty thefts target both cars and residences

A vehicle parked along 50 Avenue in Stettler was reported damaged after the owner found it had been badly scratched.

A vehicle parked in Elm Close in Erskine had a rear window smashed out of it on March 30.

THEFT

An oil/gas site in the northwestern portion of the County of Stettler was broken into on March 25. Tools and equipment were stolen.

An eight-inch fibreglass ladder was reported stolen from a residential property in the 5700 block of 42 Avenue in Stettler on March 26.

A hitch for a fifth- wheel trailer was stolen on March 29 off a vehicle parked along Main Street in Erskine.

On April 1, an easy chair, still in its box, was stolen from a business in the 4900 block of 50 Street in Stettler. On the same day, a business located in the 4700 block of 41Street in Stettler was broken into and property stolen. A license plate was reported stolen off a parked vehicle in the 5700 block of 50 Avenue in Stettler also on April 1. Later in the day, another motorist found the plate attached to his vehicle parked in the 4900 block of 53 Street, however his plate, JMA-302 Alberta, was now stolen.

A yellow and black six-speed bicycle was stolen from a residence in the 5400 block of 60 Street in Stettler on April 3.

On April 5, a Honda generator was stolen from a farmyard in the northwestern area of the County of Stettler.
