Highway 12 between Stettler and Halkirk to be repaved this summer

It is nearly July, which means the provincial highway construction program is underway.

One section of Highway 12 in both Stettler County and the County of Paintearth is going to be slowing down travellers this summer.

Beginning early in July, repaving will begin on Highway 12 in between the east edge of Stettler and one kilometre west of the Village of Halkirk.

According to signs marking the Halkirk end of the project the work is slated to continue until the end of September.

Drivers on the highway should be prepared to give themselves extra time if travelling for appointments and are reminded to follow all speed signs and directions from flagging personnel.

In Alberta, fines for speeding in construction zones are automatically doubled whether workers are present on the site or not.
