Halkirk Elks host 'Breakfast with Santa'

Halkirk

The Halkirk Elks hosted its annual "Breakfast with Santa" on Dec. 1 at the Halkirk Community Hall.

Despite a slow start, around 200 parents and children crowded into the hall for the annual event.

On the menu were pancakes, eggs, sausage, ham, and a selection of fruit.

The breakfast ran from 9-11 a.m., with people starting to trickle through the door beginning around 9:15 a.m.

Santa took a break from his Christmas preparations and stopped by the hall in order to hear Christmas wish lists from the children in attendance.

Each of the children who saw Santa received a book donated by Paintearth Adult Learning and a candy bag donated by Stettler and District Family and Community Support Services.

Helping out the Elks in running the breakfast were the youth from the Byemoor 4-H Beef Club.
