Great first week at summer reading program

The Summer Reading Program is in full swing and we are loving it.

STETTLER PUBLIC LIBRARY -- The Summer Reading Program is in full swing and we are loving it. Our first week was amazing and we can’t wait to share the awesome activities we have planned for the rest of the summer.

On Thursday, we will be going on a nature walk and eating popsicles at West Stettler Park. Come make a video of the great outdoors with our mini video cameras.

Join us at the Jewel Theatre this Friday for a free showing of Finding Nemo, come watch Finding Nemo before Finding Dory comes to Stettler. Thank you to the Jewel Theatre for allowing us to use the theatre for our program.

Next week we will have super fun activities such as making perler bead animals, cooking cake pops and playing soccer outside. It will be a blast.

This month’s cookbook club meeting will be on Monday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m. The theme this month is TV chefs and the selected cookbooks are available at the library for pickup. We’re really looking forward to this month’s delicious feast. New members are always welcome.

Next Friday, children’s author Marty Chan will be visiting the library to give a presentation on his amazingly funny books. Snacks and juice will be provided. See you there.

Do you have a talent? Do you love to perform? Then what are you waiting for? Sign up now for the Summer Reading Program’s talent show on August 12 at the library. All acts and ages are welcome.

Also, join us for our other programs that run weekly including gardening, Teen Cooking Club, and Make and Create. Check our Facebook at ‘Stettler Summer Reading Program’ for all of our program descriptions, times, and details.

Keep an eye out for additional activities on our website (spl.prl.ab.ca) and Facebook page. And if you have an activity you’d like to do/see at the library, feel free to approach us.
