The Stettler Recreation Centre (SRC) was a busy place on Family Day.

A Family Day Winter Carnival was held at the SRC on Feb.20 which managed to draw a crowd from all over the region.

Festivities kicked off at 9 a.m. with a pancake breakfast, then carnival games opened at 11 a.m.

Also at 11 a.m., a magic show with Magicmon the magician took to the HUB stage.

The SRC put on a hot-dog lunch for attendees from noon until 2 p.m. Also opening at noon was a photo-booth which allowed the people attending everything to commemorate the occasion.

Starting at 1 p.m., the SRC open the doors to both its arenas and its pools, hosting shinny in one arena, a public skate — with a DJ — in the other, and a family swim.

All events during the day were free to attend, sponsored by a number of groups including the Town of Stettler, the Heartland Youth Centre, the Stettler Public Library, Stettler and District Family and Community Support Services, and the Government of Alberta.
