The skating season in Stettler is quickly drawing to a close.

Stettler’s two arenas in the Stettler Recreation Centre (SRC) have both been shut down for the season; the ice in the red arena was pulled out on March 20 and the last day of operation in the blue arena was March 29.

Manager of recreation and culture for Stettler, Brad Robbins, says that the outdoor ice remains open for use until they melt; however, the town will not be doing any many maintenance on them.

The ice will be, at least partially, back in the SRC by mid-summer.

Ice will be ready in the blue Arena for the start of East Central Hockey School on Aug. 14.

The red arena should be ready to go sometime in early October.
