Several vehicle owners received heavy fines for driving without insurance when they appeared in Stettler Provincial Court on Oct. 22.
Thomas James Rowland was fined $2,875 for driving a vehicle without insurance.
Sean Martin Stewart was fined $2,875 for driving a vehicle without insurance.
Michael J. MacDonald, 45, was sentenced to 60 more days in jail for two counts of failing to comply with conditions of probation when he was intoxicated and in contact with people he was ordered to avoid.
“This is not the first time you have disobeyed a court order,” said Judge W. Albert Skinner, who was recently named the new Assistant Chief Judge for the central region of the Provincial Court of Alberta
“Alcohol is a problem to your record,” he told MacDonald, incarcerated since Aug. 11.
Kristianne Repchin, 21, was fined $1,150 for driving with blood alcohol content over 80 milligrams, recording 130 mg on Aug. 23.
Jeremy Wyatt Bitzer was fined $1,000 for driving a vehicle with over the 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood in Stettler on Sept. 24 with a reading of 100 mg. and prohibited from driving for one year.
Brenda Lee Doberstein was prohibited from owning, managing or caring for horses for life for causing horses to be in distress in the Donalda area on April 16 under the Animal Protection Act.
