Jasmin Schultz's black truck

County of Stettler resident returns to No Frills parking lot to find wheels stolen

County of Stettler resident, Jasmin Schultz had a rude shock when she came out of No Frills on Tuesday, Feb. 14 after grocery shopping.

It was a rude shock for County of Stettler resident, Jasmin Schultz when she stopped at No Frills on Tuesday, Feb. 14 to complete her grocery shopping for the evening.

“I had already bought most of my groceries and had to get some remaining items, so I pulled into No Frills around 7:30 p.m.,” Schultz recalled. “I fed my two kids some snacks while sitting in the truck and then we headed out to finish our grocery shopping.”

Schultz said at first when she didn’t find her truck, she thought she had forgotten where she had parked.

But given that it was 8 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, the parking lot was not crowded, but only had a few vehicles; it was then it dawned on Schultz that someone might have stolen her truck.

“I called 911 right away,” Schultz said. “And after speaking with the RCMP, we headed back into the store to replace our stolen groceries and Sean from No Frills was gracious enough to not charge us at all!”

What upsets Schultz the most is the fact that her truck – a 2006 F350 King Ranch – was locked and she had the keys on her.

“I am annoyed that whoever stole my truck could easily drive for six hours without stopping to refill as it had a full tank of diesel,” Schultz added. “And it had all my groceries and two car seats.”

Even though Schultz is annoyed that people don’t have anything better to do with their time, she hopes that someone is able to trace her vehicle from all the information she has provided.

The black truck with the license plate BNZ8259 has a rodeo decal on the passenger side back window that says “Back Country Bone Collector,” which could perhaps be removed by now by the offender.

The other way of identification is a patch of rust under the driver’s door handle.

If anyone spots the vehicle or has information about the incident, they can contact the Stettler RCMP at 403-742-3382, or anonymously phone Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
