Citing gaps "in physician coverage," Coronation Hospital and Care Centre's emergency department will temporarily operate at reduced hours for several upcoming days.
The emergency department will be closed from 8 a.m. until noon on Sept. 20, Oct. 1, Oct. 4 and Oct. 25.
Aside from these periods, the department will operate normally.
Nursing staff will remain on-site during these periods providing first aid and triage for anyone that presents to the department.
Provided their condition is stable, patients will be directed to facilities in surrounding communities such as the Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital in Castor, the Hanna Health Care Centre, and the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre.
If necessary, ambulance transport for patients will be arranged.
Patients suffering a medical emergency are asked to dial 911.
