Consort public school has received high marks from the Fraser Institute.

The conservative think tank recently released this year’s high school report cards, which ranked 274 high schools across the province. Consort came in as one of the best schools in the province with a rank of 12, just shy of the top 10. The No. 1 school in the province went to Rundle College, a private school in Calgary.

The report card is based on a number of data collected during the 2015-16 school year including averages in math, English and diploma competition rates.

The other four high schools listed in the Stettler area didn’t crack the one hundred mark. Coronation came in at 118 followed by Delburne Centralized at 163, Gus Wetter in Castor at 194 and William W Hay in Stettler at 224.

In terms of overall score, Consort continued to lead the pack with a rating of 8.9 out of 10. Coronation received a rating of 6.3 out of 10 followed by Delburne at 5.8, Gus Wetter at 5.3 and Stettler at 4.5.

Stettler’s Christ-King Catholic School was not included in the rankings.
