Clearview School Division reminds parents to submit the survey on professional development by Feb. 10.
The pilot project includes one hour of staff learning two Mondays a month (first and third) that are school days.
“We appreciate and value the opinion of people in our school communities as we work together to offer high- quality education that helps create successful learners,” said Ken Checkel, who chairs the board.
“Our board committed to asking for feedback when this pilot program began and we encourage school-based staff and parents to respond.”
“Research shows that regular, frequent collaboration and relevant opportunities for professional learning are most effective for staff development and consequently for student learning,” said superintendent John Bailey.
“We thank parents for their comments as we work together to continue to focus on student learning in Clearview School Division.”
Under the program, students are dismissed one hour early on those days and instructional time is added to other days in the week to meet requirements of board policy.
Surveys cam be completed online on the Clearview website at www.clearview.ab.ca, your local school website or printed copies are available at Clearview schools.

Community consultations
Completing community consultations last fall, Clearview plans to post a “What we heard” document on its website this month that will summarize the notes around themes that were evident across the division.
Passionate to keep local rural schools open, parents and residents called for more funding, more students, more student opportunities and more support from the community and Clearview School Division.
About 210 people participated in the sessions held in Big Valley, Byemoor, Botha, Stettler, Donalda, Castor, Coronation, Erskine and Brownfield.
