Clearview Public Schools will be on the hunt for a new superintendent for the second time in as many years.

Superintendent Brenda MacDonald first announced her impending retirement to the board of trustees at their Feb. 2 meeting before the information was released publicly via an email release on Feb. 8.

MacDonald plans to retire from the division at the end of July, after completing seven years working within Clearview and 36 years as an educator, and other various roles.

“What I’ve loved most about my time in Clearview is the people I’ve worked with,” said MacDonald, in the release.

“Our staff are great people and are very committed to students.I’ve been fortunate to be surrounded by an amazing team.”

According to Clearview Public Schools board chairman Guy Nietz, MacDonald is respected across the division “for her emphasis on creating a positive culture.”

“On behalf of Clearview Public Schools I would like to offer my sincere appreciation to Superintendent MacDonald for her service in our schools and community,” said Nietz, in the same release.

“Brenda’s message of hope and compassion has strengthened our resolve to work together to ensure our schools are safe and care environments of learning in a disrupted world.”

MacDonald says in the release that once she retires she plans to focus on her family.
