Clearview Public Schools is noticing improvements in diploma exam results, highlighting the success of both students and teachers.

Clearview’s diploma marks have moved up from eighth place to second ranking when compared to neighbouring schools.

When compared to other similar sized rural school divisions with fewer than 4,500 students throughout the province, in the last three years, Clearview has increased its diploma acceptable range by 11.2 per cent and went from fourth to first.

The provincial achievement test scores have increased by 5.2 per cent in the acceptable range and Clearview has gone from fourth position to second place.

Superintendent Peter Barron gives credit to staff for outstanding work noting it has made a significant difference in student achievements.

“Division initiatives to support literacy and numeracy are making an impact,” he said. “I am very pleased that graduates from Clearview will have greater opportunities and choices as a result of an increase in their achievement,” said Baron.

Deputy superintendent, Brenda MacDonald said the results are because of collaborative work with principals and teachers working diligently with students.

“We are living our motto which is ‘we all belong, we all succeed,’” she said.
