Clearview Public Schools has announced that buses will not be running on Dec. 21 due to the forecast severe-cold conditions.
With temperatures dipping below -35 Celsius, or -40 Celsius when wind is factored in, Clearview made the decision to cancel all bus routes as a safety precaution under the Severe Weather Conditions policy.
As school buses are not operating, all scheduled field trips are also cancelled. Schools across the division are to remain open and staff are to report to work as normal, provided it is safe to do so.
If schools are to close, parents of affected students will be notified by the superintendent.
Any students who do brave the frigid cold and head to school are asked to be prepared for the weather, with appropriate footwear, jackets, headgear, and gloves or mitts.
